Food Trucks in Orlando are on the rise. According to The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation‘s Food Truck Nation Report, Orlando ranks #3 for the entire country for starting a Food Truck. Recent legislation we helped champion that allows food trucks to operate in the entire state with just one license has boosted growth. We all know that food trucks are popular, fun, & tasty! Food trucks make a lot of sense for large group catering by serving fresh food and fast while creating a unique atmosphere.

So you’re thinking of hosting a food truck event in Orlando? Here are a few things to consider before you get started:

  1. Work with a food truck catering agency – like Orlando Food Trucks that has proven food truck catering experience. Hiring an agency can save you time and money in the long run. They have relationships with the food trucks and know what they are truly capable of. They have experience in handling logistics, and know how to run an efficient event whether you’re serving 150 people or 5000. When Tommy who owns a Smashburger truck tells you he can serve 100 people in an hour, the agency actually  understands each trucks production capabilities and won’t over commit a trucks service speed.
  2. Have activities –  Food trucks can be your only attraction, adding games or entertainment helps too. The more types of activities that you can provide, the more people you can engage your guests! The food may draw them in initially, but the other activities, games, and interactive ideas will get people talking and excited at work.
  3. Play some music! – Who wants a silent event? We’ve never had anyone ask for a silent disco food truck catering, but, we definitely could do that.  A little bit of music can create a lively atmosphere, and get people bobbing heads and tapping toes while they enjoy some delicious food.
  4. Variety of cuisines – A variety of cuisines is crucial so that you can serve and delight as many people as possible. Unless your event is geared towards a particular style or type of food with a theme, we recommend giving a few options per truck (based on event size and serving time) so that you can appeal to the more particular eaters as well.
  5. Spread the word! – Use tech within your organizations like Teams, Email, Slack etc. but, for some clients, staff aren’t checking emails or screens, they are on the production floor or doing other things. Even a simple sign that says Food Trucks this way at 11 AM or Food Truck Lunch Today can make a big difference.
